When Helga got sick with cancer we put our shop on hold. 3 months later she was gone and it took my 10 months to decide what to do with our shop. I have finally decided to reopen it with most of our items but not including her jewelry.

And for now I am keeping most of our backgraund story as it was before my love passed away:

Since we two meet we've been making things, creating, building, carpeting, printing, sewing, designing and experimenting together.

We are nature loving multi talented Icelanders with a respect for our viking ancestors and heritage.
But mostly folks who love to create.

Weather we sew it, screen print it, design it, paint it, photoshop it, digitally print it, build it or cast it with resin… its always MAID in Iceland.

Although this is still a second job for both of us, we have changed one thing. We only do jobs we like. Helga is working in a cat-shelter in Reykjavík and LOVES her job. (We have 3 crumpy male cats here at home).
Aevar works on boat repairs, in a small printing shop, house repairs, as a graphic designer for a fishing export company and various other bits.
